Rouse: Very Well

Periodic Packer notes Posted by a Passionate Packer fan.

Coach quotes: "Vernand's injury (knee) is a little more serious than we anticipated, so it may be a couple weeks for him. "

On Aaron Rouse: "You can see his athletic ability, especially for his size. So yeah, I think he's doing very well so far."

Defensive tackles Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly passed their running test inside the Don Hutson Center on Monday and should be returning to practice soon, perhaps as early as Tuesday.

Camp News

Coach McCarthy quote: "I think as a whole our football team came back at a very high level of conditioning."

More on the conditioning drill: players have to run the width of the field and back - a combined 106 yards - eight times, completing each sprint in less than 20 seconds.

Favre gone due to family death, Rogers takes over.

Running Back: Injuiries, uncertaines, sickness, a Pope (3rd all time Bowling Green Rusher) the answer?

Out of Shapers + bang up

Periodic Packer notes Posted by a Passionate Packer fan.

"Defensive tackles Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly, did not pass the running test that's part of every player's pre-camp physical on Friday, so their conditioning is not good enough for them to practice and they are day-to-day." The running test was not a distance one, but a sprint based effort.

Pickett was a starter last year after free agenting over from the Rams while Jolly was a 6th round pick who played in only 6 games.

TE Humphery broke his fibula and will be out for up to a month.

"We're going to win the world's championship here in Green Bay again," McCarthy said.

"That's the view. That's the vision." "All my energy and focus goes on winning the world's championship," he said.

Signings or Not

Periodic Packer notes Posted by a Passionate Packer fan.

The Packers signed their 1st rounder and .... while the Lions have still not signed Calvin Johnson. An object lesson in why some win and some don't.

Periodic Packer notes Posted by a Passionate Packer fan.

6-4 223 out of Va Tech Aaron Rouse, safetyman. They say they want him to 'play big' when the pads are on and I think he will....really based on instict I say this.

Justin Harrell

Periodic Packer notes Posted by a Passionate Packer fan.

It's nearly time for Packer's training camp to start. Justin Harrell the teams 1st rounder isn't yet signed but should be. He'll wear # 91 upon signing.

What do I think of him? According to Phil Steele he was the 52nd ranked Defensive lineman coming out of HS. By the time he left college he was the 6th ranked tackle according to Steele.

Maybe it's blue skying but I think he's a tough character player that will work out just fine.

Swimming @ The Beach

A great day. Warm water. Big waves. Warm temps and wind. Sitting in the water watching waves loom and then drop to your level. Looking in details at the foam, seeing some blow off the top by water. Super!

Birthday Positives

Today I turn 36. Birthdays always put me in reflection mode. # 36 sees a number of positives:

I am marrying the women I love in just over 2 months.

My animals are healthy.

I am on my way to becoming a licensed paramedic.

My house and yard are being improved.

I have taken up running to improve my fitness.

I've a library of oodles of books to enjoy.

My health is good.

So, it is a happy birthday for me.

I'll close with some advice my father gave me: Think positive, think forward.
