2 infobits I picked up on NPR today.
1. At Guantanamo Bay supposedly interrogation is all hunky dory now, no stress position, water boarding etc.
When prisoners cooperate 'incentive' items are used. I guess they'd be the carrot to the stick. One such item is cigarettes. So addictive deadly smokes are used. This is considered a step forward?
2. Our president speaks "First, he does not know whether certain methods of questioning are in fact used, because the program is classified -- and therefore he is in no position to provide an informed opinion." That's great keep the guy in the dark from the start!
