Amazing Race Week 1: Donkies, Ferries, Dykes and Hi-Wire Bikes

Not much of a TV guy but one of my favorites Amazing Race is back.

Donkey difficulties eliminated Ari and Staella. Earlier they had stolen a taxi so perhaps karma became enraged and tampered with their ass?

It was a pretty interesting leg starting in LA, flying to Shannon Ireland (about a 16 hour flight) and then some interesting challenges including hi wire biking.

I formed some entirely unscientific, biases impressions of the teams.

Nathan and the annoying, crying emotional Jennifer were 2nd to last also having donkey issues.

There is a goth couple that finished 2nd and I can't say I favor them. Several teams referred to them as 'freaks' and I'm down with that.

The earnest Father/Daughter team of Ron and Christina was 7th. Let me change that to over earnest.

In 9th were the sister team of Marianna and Julia. These Floridians might be too emotional to keep it together.

Married ministers Kate and Pat were 8th and their wisdom/calmness could help although physically I have my doubts.

My 1st episode favorites were TK and Rachel. TK looks hippy dippy but was a college swimmer indicating some good conditioning. His last name is Erwin and he set a school record for the 200 meter back stroke in 2005.
