There are 9 boats starting the Barcelona World Race. As this is the first non stop double handed circumnavigation race there are 18 sailors. Generally there is a skipper and co-skipper. It is the skippers program and in a years time the skipper, such as Vincnet Riou, will sail the boat in the Vendee Globe. The co-skipper then was selected just for this race.
Educacion Sins Fronteras co-skipper Servane Escoffier is the race's youngest sailor at age 26. French, she is from a family of prefssional sailors. She has podium places in two trans atlantic races in the Open 50 mono hull class. During this race Servane says, "Albert [Bargues] will handle the technical aspects, and I shall sit at the chart table…"
