Sidney Gavignet; thoughtful on Delta Dore:

"The nights come round and are all so different. Last night was gentler, a lot calmer, and the sun beat down through the clouds. With music from India, Eminem or IAM sounding, my eyes move back and forth between the electronic data and the sails, without ever forgetting the stars. The sea is like silver; and maybe inspired by the music, I am led to think just how differently Indian singer Chiva or Marseille rappers live, or even myself…..there is such a contrast! This kind of night really makes you “take a step back”, but then it is all of these differences that make life so beautiful.

The Delta Dore duo

At 2 o’clock I take over from Jérémie. He has just passed Veolia who were completely stuck without any wind, and here you could see a real example of the two Beyous; the difference between yesterday morning and tonight is quite remarkable. We have managed to catch up with Madrileña and Veolia and then Jérémie heard from his two colleagues from Port La Forêt. It is a relief to be out of the Mediterranean, and despite everything we are still in contact with some of our competition, the others aren’t that far off and the leaders aren’t yet out of firing range. For once the weather doesn’t seem to particularly favouring the front of the fleet. So we have some real work on our hands.
Ok my friends, there you have my first words of the day straight after the position report….
