World Almanac Blog 01/01/08

In 2008 I will blog on items found in the World Almanac. This is a yearly Christmas gift I have grown to cherish. M thru F you will read items that maybe chronological, topical or random.

P.292 Vanderbilt MI holds the record for coldest ever temperature in Michigan at -51° F. This occured Feb 9, 1934. Located off I 75 Vanderbilt was settled on land owned by the famed Vanderbilt family whose Michigan Central Railroad passed thru the area. With a population of just under 600 it's located in Ostego county.
