In 2008 I will blog on items found in the World Almanac. This is a yearly Christmas gift I have grown to cherish. M thru F you will read items that maybe chronological, topical or random.
Starting on P. 432 there is a section on the 110th congress. Representative Denny Rehberg (R) of Montana won the most votes in any house election, 239,124. He is in his 4th term. Being Montana's solo congressman he had a whole state to draw from. Earl Blumenauer (D) of Oregon's 3rd district received 186,380 votes most of any candidate in a multi district state. He was elected to the house in 1996. His district includes the east portion of Portland.
