World Almanac Blog

In 2008 I will blog on items found in the World Almanac and expand on them via online resources. This feature will appear each Monday to Friday.

John Tyler was the 10th U.S. President from serving from 1841 to 1845, succeeding William Henry Harrison who died in office. Tyler was the first President to have congress overide a veto. (P. 477). Later he served in the Confederate States House of Representatives (P. 519). Married twice, Tyler fathered 15 childern most of any President. His first child was born in 1815, his final child Pearl Tyler lived until 1947 was born when her father was 70.
