Chest Pain or....

Was the chest pain actually cardiac or was it from the spicy chicken, orange juice and ice cream that you ate? The nitro didn't touch it, the EKG was text book so perhaps we had heartburn/indigestion and not any type of cardiac issue or MI?

This is where the thorough questioning can be helpful. PQRST. Have you ever felt this way before? If so, what did help? What diagnosis did you get? Response to NTG is not a good determinant of cardiac pain. 12 lead helps, but also misses MIs. That is a nasty meal. :-)

P= Woke up with chest pain.
Q= Along the lines of a dull ache
R= Radiates along mid line of abdomen and around to the flanks from sub sternal area.
S= 6/10
T= 2 hours prior to calling us.

The feeling was new. Had a brother who had an MI.

12 leads were benign.

Talked with doc at hospital and he was going to give a GI cocktail thinking it was ot cardiac.

It does not sound much like cardiac pain.
