It's a Half Hour from the End of your shift...

& you get a call- actually a transfer. Then a page from dispatch saying the hospital is adamant about this occurring prior to shift change. Happy late call!

But if they are adamant and it's urgent shouldn't the patient stay at the hospital. Yes the hospital is your areas busiest but when you arrive it's calmer than normal.

The geriatric patient whom you've had before is 100% normal as ever. Perhaps she will miss breakfast? No, she has a feeding rube.

You get her to the rig and run fast and silent. Arrive at ye olde nursing home where the level of concern is just above terminal indifference.

Deliver patient to her bed. Get off about half an hour late.

Somewhere along the line some misrepresented, lied, told tales etc. This makes your bottom of the heap position clear. You go home with another divot in the chip on your shoulder.

As long as I don't need to be somewhere else, and the way EMS shifts are I wouldn't, I would just look at it as an opportunity for overtime.
