Watching the Sully 60 minutes interview, he's said a couple of interesting things. When asked if he prayed he said no there were probably about 155 people taking care of that for me.
After the landing he didn't think he had averted disaster, he realized he needed to evacuate the plane.

He did what he was trained to do. No miracle but achieved what was within his limits.
