Weather Journal 10 March

This quote from a NWS meteorologist: "You're starting to lose some of your snow cover (in Muskegon), but you've got 14 inches on the ground. It's not going to go away fast." For now true enough the back yard still has snow.

Have we had a real winter? According to WOODTV since mid January we've had 57.4 inches of snow, since 1 February it's been 5.6 degrees colder than normal, and we've had at least 4 inches of snow on the ground since January 15th. So, for around two months yes we've lived winter.

Fog is a sign of weather change saw some last nite and it occurred again this morning. Besides this it should be a quiet warm weather weekend with essentially a blank weather map to the west.

The warm weather is hindering the Frozen Superior Crossing: "I explained how the warm weather was messing with me. I told her that I was trying to follow the shore line but was being forced inland due to the lack of ice.
