Climate is essentially a historical concept. It's what we expect based on past weather for a given day. For 9 March Muskegon has these expectations: low of 23, high of 40. We're supposed to get up to 38, while last nite there was a low of 21 degrees so the weather which can be thought of as what we actually get is abnormal for this period.
A cold front to the west will come thru tonite bringing some rain. But it's pretty much a misnomer as the low is project at just 33 degrees.
To the north Edward Shively is off on a weather dependant project. It is the 'first frozen crossing of Lake Superior'.
He's been out a month walking east to west for the purpose of promoting his educational software. Currently he's approaching Marquette. This U.P. city will also have 40 degree temperatures upcoming which can't be good for ice.
