90% chance of rain today. Hear rain outside. OK, check mark on that forecast. Radar is heavy with precip even including some red areas which equal heavy precip. Post rain a warm front will give us temps in the 50's.
The steay rain makes you want to check out of the weather here. For instance, yesterday's low in the lower 48 was -21 at Embarrass Minn. which bills itself as 'The Cold Spot'.
Or, going to sea at 60 degrees south latitude 120 degrees east longitude- awfully near Antarctica- there will be winds of Force 8/Fresh Gale on the Beaufort scale. If you use Google Earth you fly in on water.
Back in March of 1773 Captain Cook sailed this area commenting, "Fresh gales in the pm, showers of snow and hail, the remainder mostly fair but very dark and gloomy." This point is nearest Antarctica's Wilkes Land named for another later explorer.
That's the weather in multiple aspects and dimensions it's always been around and always will be.
