I feel like I am writing a snow report for a ski lodge. Overnite another inch of fresh powder, with a one inch base now...
In addition to snow we also are having good 'ole freezing fog. This would be, "A fog the droplets of which freeze upon contact with exposed objects and form a coating of rime and/or glaze."
With an expected high of 28° this should be the low point for temps with a relative upswing set to take us up to 40-at least. & from the could be worse file- 1° at Ely Minn.
"We’re no longer arm-waving with models. This is empirical information on the ground." MARTIN PARRY, This is a quote from an author of the latest climate change report by a UN scientific panel.
For instance we are in an area that has seen temperatures increase up to 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit since 1970. Also, our area has seen several physical system changes such as in hydrology.
The impact that climate change will have is myriad and includes these: "the increased frequency of cardio-respiratory diseases due to higher concentrations of ground level ozone related to climate change." In North America due to more frequent and intense heat waves, "The growing number of the elderly population is most at risk."
Based on this we have some Senators ahead of the curve via looking at climate change as a national security issue. The UN Security Council is taking a similar approach.
It's as if we now will live with the day to day variation of our weather, in the context of climate thru the proven lens of climate change.
