Days

We all have days we remember, wedding anniversaries, the 1st we......etc. Then there's Captain James Cook.

On January 17 1773 he and his crew became the 1st to sail below the Antarctic circle. In his journal he wrote, "At about a 1/4 past 11 o'Clock we cross'd the Antarctic circle for a Noon we were by observation four Miles and a half South of it and we are undoubtedly the first and only ship that ever cross's that line."

On January 18 1778 Cook and his expedition discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Of this he wrote, "Morning of the 18th when an island was discovered bearing nebe and soon after we saw more land bearing north and entirely detached from the 1st..."

Whose had better days than these?
