The snow predictions have been downgraded from 6 inches or above to 2 to 4. By Sunday we will have drizzle and rain.

Packers Trade Williams

The Packers will trade Cory Williams to the Cleveland Browns. Williams recently received the 'franchise tag' designation. In return Green Bay gets a 2nd round pick (# 56) in the upcoming draft. They also have the 30th pick in the 1st round and 60th in the 2nd round.

I like this trade. When Williams got tagged I thought it was more on potential than production and so seeing him go is OK. Thompson now has 3 pick in the 1st 60 to work with which is a positive development.

Tiger Woods scored a crushing victory in the Accenture Match Play event. This is his 3rd such win (2003,2004&2008). Looking at P. 945 we see that in 2003 he won no majors, nor did he in 2004. So is this win actually a note of caution?

Williams gets Franchise Tag

DT Corey Williams has been 'franchised' meaning he will stay a Packer. He'll get at least a 1 year deal and attempts will be made to make the contract multiple years.

Given Thompson's prefernce for lineman this is not a surprise although it had been thought Williams would be allowed to leave.

I'll come down in favor of this move especially given the big player philosophy.

A Different Perspective

A Saturday run.
In Snow Season.
Run the road.
Into traffic.
Thigh high snow banks to the left.
Watching vehicles rush @ you.
As you try to run into a rhythm.

Quiet Room

Quiet room where you can hear fax machine tones.
The loud voices of people.
Quiet loses to technology and careless minds.

Instant Lakefront

Quick melting snow
turns our neighborhood side street
into lake front property.

We Have Windows Ya Know

Front page's nescessary advice: best bet to stay warm is to stay inside.

The TV say as our cameras show...

Ya know we have windows right here

Other advice: snow shoveling can lead to heart attack.

A man pictured shoveling snow wishes to no be ID'd. Is shovel work shameful?

No matter I not only look out the window I head out to exercise.

Walking thru the foot deep park snow I lift my boots high and clear, each step is snow arobics.

Eschewing the camera showing the outdoors option, risking the frigid outdoors against front page advice
I feel vigorous. when walking in snow my snow knowledge increases

Snow Poem 1

Heavy snow fall regenerating winter from dead grass.

Branches wobble under the weight. Moist snow a tree faller.

Dense snow grabs at you when you walk quicksand like

Snow adheres dropping frequently off roofs and fauna.

Coach McCarthy has a new contract that runs thru 2012 as does GM Thompson. McCarthy says, "The five-year deal I think is a reflection of the commitment to our football program and the direction that we're headed."

McCarthy's .647 (22-12) record is 2nd among all active coaches and 2nd amongst Packer coaches.

Thompson's reaction: " "Mike brings tremendous passion, work ethic and structure to his position."

Summing it up the coach says, "The goal will never change. It's been the same since the first time I stood in front of the media and the fans, and that's to win the world championship and bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay."

Every thing's sealed then. Both have the same length deals, no worries about whose is up when. Back to the goals then.
